1 Year as full time student

today marks one year i've been living and studying at Nibong Tebal, Penang.

it seems only yesterday i came here register as fresh postgraduate student...and now i'm one of the senior in the lab,

i used lab's refrigerator as it is my own , eat happily in the lab without even consider the smells of my food will make others hungry hahaha

 i proudly say that i know this campus pretty well.. if u can remember i wrote an entry last year when i just registered as a student here.

of coz life here is absolutely different from what i've experienced in UM, eventhough   culture of research in both universities is pretty much similar but of coz they have their own style,
here are the list of obvious differences that i observed:

•    dekat USM ni all postgraduate got their own cubicle/space in postgraduate room. The room is separated from the lab.. but at UM averything is done in the same room! kat situ la your cubicle, situ jugak la student undergraduate buat lab...at one time lab can be suffocated with too many students (under/postgraduates)

•    The internal grant is also available here, but i don't think the amount is as generous as what UM provides, :) UM tu lagi mewah duit aku rasa..

•    in terms of management, i prefer UM style of handling issues, UM always acknowledge us in advance if there are any changes in current system/policies...but here ermm boleh tahan last minit la jugak they let us know..most of the system here is also not user-friendly

contoh:
kalau aku nak bayar yuran hostel, i have to pay at bursar, then bring the copy of the receipt to the hostel's office...they will photocopy the receipt for their record...bare in mind, the hostel's office and bursar are not located at the same building

if u failed to submit the receipt eventho u've paid the rent...they will consider u not paid..bangang tak sistem?walaupon dalam satu uni...depa tak boleh nak design sistem supaya bende ni semua buat online ja & connected to every department!!!

•    campus here has sharers..they shared almost every current movies, tv series through ftp server..u can download it for free..bab ni mmg aku suke sgt hahaha ko ckp je nk cerita apa semua ada..english?malay?korea? bersepah sgtt!! sampai aku sendiri tak keep track berapa sharer yg ada, & cerita apa yg available..aku layan yg aku mmg follow da bertahun-tahun mcm How I Met Your Mother

•    food price is here is cheaper than kl obviously hehe not just the food, household products are also cheaper..kalau aku balik kl drive, i'll bring back detergent/toiletries ..harga dia murah tak beringat kadang-kadang murah 4-5ringgit dr harga kat KL..best kan?

to those who don't know where the hell is Nibong Tebal, herewith i attached the map!

kalau tgk kat map ni...Nibong Tebal (Penang) bersebelahan je dgn Parit Buntar (Perak) dan dekat dengan Bandar Baharu (Kedah)...aku duduk bersempadan dengan 3 negeri..ko hado? hahaha

i'm not staying at island, Nibong tebal is at mainland specifically at south area of seberang jaya...45minutes to 1 hour drive to island

jadi sbnrnye aku lebih dekat ke Parit Buntar dari ke Pulau...tempat ni mmg kampung jugak hoho

aku ke pulau selalunya pun during weekend, walaupun kampung, tapi Alhamdulillah seronok juga kat sini

dari sorang-sorang kat sini..dtg gamble je takde kwn, after a year Alhamdullilah ramai juga kenalan baru :)

living here for a year (& counting) is self-achievemnt for me! You guys should congratulate because this is BIG!!! (^__^)
